Belgium vs Wales

World Cup Qualification | 24th March 2021 | 19.45pm

It's International football over the next week and Wales face Belgium in what is essentially a free hit in the first game of their World Cup Qualification group with Wales expected to lose.

For me Wales may as well go for it and see what happens. Every team in the group will likely lose away to Belgium, although it may well come down to goal difference so Wales may go out in defensive mode. A point would be an excellent result.

Wales are in good form, unbeaten in 5 games and with 2 wins on the trot. They have beaten Finland 3-1 and Ireland 1-0. Most importantly they have Gareth Bale back scoring goals which should be huge for them and hasn't been the case for quite for some time with Bale struggling for fitness and game time.

Belgium have won 4 in a row, most recently a 4-2 win over Denmark and a 2-0 win over England. Like Bale for Wales a fit and firing De Bruyne will be a massive boost for Belgium who also have Lukaka firing on all cylinders.

Wales

Although Wales haven't played the quality of Belgium every match they have only conceded 1 goal in their last 5 games, with 4 clean sheets. Those clean sheets came against Ireland twice, USA and Bulgaria who are capable enough sides but they did fail to score in 2 of those.

The last highly ranked side they faced was England in a 3-0 defeat. In that game Wales managed 3 corners and also received 3 yellow cards.

Belgium

Belgium have scored 11 in their last 5 games and have only kept a clean sheet in one of those games with 4 of them going over 2.5 goals. They won 7 corners in their last match vs Denmark and received 1 yellow card.

Betting Tips

It's a mix of styles with Belgium having 4 out of 5 games over 2.5 goals and Wales only 1 out of 5, i think Belgium will score a couple and the question is can Wales get on the scoresheet. With Bale fit and firing they will certainly have a chance and Belgium's recent form suggests they have been leaking goals.

Our Betting Tips:

Over 2.5 goals 8/11

De Bruyne over 1 shot on target 13/10

Bale to score anytime 4/1

Prediction:

2-1
