England vs Poland

World Cup Qualification | 31st March 2021 | 19.45pm

England with two wins from two so far in World Cup Qualification take on Poland in what will be their toughest test yet and likely rivals for top spot in the group.
Poland are a very good side, ranked 19 in the world and have arguably the worlds greatest striker in Robert Lewandowski. They also have some very good players in Zielinski, Milik and Piatek.
They beat Andorra 3-0 in their last game, with Lewandowski hitting a double and drew 3-3 with Hungary in their first game of the group stage.
In a huge boost for England Lewandowski has recently been ruled out of the game with an injury.
Injured Lewandowski has been ruled out of the game
England have two wins from two, beating Albania 2-0 and San Marino 5-0 but weren't really tested by either team, the Poland game will be a big step up in class and a real test of how far England have come under Southgate.
Poland - Recent Form
If we look at Poland's record against the top teams they have been close games but have lost 3 and drawn 1 against Holland and Italy, two teams quite comparable to England.
In those games they have set up quite defensively away from home, having only 33% of possession against Italy and 32% against Holland. They received 8 cards over those 2 matches and conceded 14 corners.
England - Recent Form
Although they have won both games quite convincingly i haven't actually been hugely impressed with England, but i do think they can step it up against Poland.
Against San Marino England won 7 corners but San Marino didn't actually receive any yellow cards, but i wouldn't pay much attention that because San Marino played really passively and stood off, something i don't expect Poland to do.
Against Albania England won 5 corners and Albania received 3 yellow cards.
Betting Tips
I think England will win but i think it will be a tough game and probably only by a goal. Odds of 2/5 don't particularly appeal so i will be looking for value elsewhere.
Cards look great with Poland receiving so many in these types of games. Corners i also really like the look of although England do have a habit of switching of and winning a lot less once ahead and in the second half.
