Champions League | 27th April 2021 | 20.00pm
The Champions League Semi Finals kick off on Tuesday and the first games see's Real Madrid vs Chelsea and what is a very intriguing game. We will take a look at the stats and best football tips.
Both sides have been in fine form so far in the Champions League with Chelsea knocking out Atletico Madrid and Porto and Real Madrid beating Liverpool and Atlanta.
I think this is a pretty hard tie to call and i don't think we really know just how good either side is. Both teams have been excellent at times but somewhat inconsistent at others and are probably better defensively than going forward.
The head to head record shows Chelsea have never lost to Real Madrid but the most recent game was back in 1998 and the other two games were played in 1971.
Real Madrid - Team Form
Real Madrid beat Liverpool 3-1 and then drew 0-0 in the away leg. It was a pretty dominant performance and the first leg won by a brilliant performance from Vinicius Jr on the counter.
Real Madrid have been involved in three 0-0s in their last four games.
In La Liga results have been mixed lately but perhaps they have had their eye firmly on this game. Real Madrid have drawn 0-0 with Getafe and Real Betis and beat Cadiz 3-0 keeping four clean sheets in a row.
Corners have been good with an average of 5 per game and for cards it's 1.6 per game.
Chelsea - Team Form
West Ham have been pretty inconsistent recently with two wins, two losses and a draw but one thing that has been consistent is goals. They have three 3-2 score lines in a row and a 3-3 in the game previous to that. They have scored 11 goals in just 4 games.
Four of Chelsea's last five games have been under 1.5 goals.
Their last Premier League game was a 0-1 victory over West Ham, a very good victory for Chelsea in the race for a top 4 finish with Timo Werner scoring the winner and possibly turning the corner form wise but he did also miss a complete sitter.
Chelsea have averaged 4 corners per game and 2 cards.
Match Stats
Key Players
For Real Madrid Benzema has been in good form scoring two against Cadiz and versus Barcelona. Vinicius Jr is a threat after his performance against Liverpool in the previous round. I think this game will probably be won defensively so the key could be Courtois back against his former club.
Betting Tips
Chelsea have been poor for goals ever since Tuchel arrived and Real Madrid have been involved in plenty of 0-0s recently. I can see this being a very tight, tactical battle and i think cards, corners and under's for goals makes sense.
Our Tips:
Under 2.5 goals 8/13
