West Ham vs Chelsea

Premier League | 24th April 2021 | 17.30pm

It's West Ham vs Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday in the evening kick off and as a London Derby and key game in the race for Champions League qualification this should be a cracking football match.

Both sides are currently on 55 points, with Chelsea ahead in fourth on goal difference. This will be a very important game and essentially a six pointer akin to a relegation battle.

West Ham and Chelsea are both in good form and i am not sure you would want to back a winner either way but the bookies do favour Chelsea who are priced as odds on favourites.

The head to head record is somewhat surprisingly two wins each and one draw. The latest a 3-0 win to Chelsea in December and previous to that 3-2 and 1-0 West Ham wins.

Chelsea - Team Form

It's been a hectic week for Chelsea, they beat Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup Semi Final in a very good performance and then came news of joining a European Super League and subsequent withdrawal shortly afterwards which must have affected the players who put in a terrible performance against Brighton which ended 0-0 and Chelsea did not even win a single corner!

Only one of Chelsea's last five have featured 3 or more goals.

They need to turn up against West Ham and i think things will have blown over sufficiently for the players to turn up with their mind on the game.

Corners have been good for Chelsea and they have averaged 5 per game including the 0 in the last game.

For cards Chelsea have received 0.8 in their last five but in three of those they received 0.

West Ham - Team Form

West Ham have been pretty inconsistent recently with two wins, two losses and a draw but one thing that has been consistent is goals. They have three 3-2 score lines in a row and a 3-3 in the game previous to that. They have scored 11 goals in just 4 games.

Seven of West Ham's last 10 have featured 3 or more goals.

Their last Premier League game was a 3-2 loss to Newcastle which involved an early red card for Craig Dawson and they did get back to 2-2 with 10 men before a late Willock winner.

West Ham average 3.2 corners per game and 2.4 cards per game.

Key Player

Jesse Lingard has been in fine form and has now scored in each of his last four games and nine goals in just eleven games.

Betting Tips

Chelsea have been poor for goals ever since Tuchel arrived but West Ham have been involved in some very high scoring games recently so it really is a battle of two styles. I think Both Teams to Score would be a good shout but it could be a cagey game with so much on the line and also fancy West Ham cards and Chelsea corners.

Our Tips:

Both Teams to Score 4/5

Prediction:

1-1
